PERMANENT SCHOOL ACCOMODATION NEEDED IN CELBRIDGE – O’ROURKE

Frank O’Rourke TD has called on the Department of Education again in recent days to prioritise the provision of permanent school accommodation for a number of schools in Celbridge.

Deputy O’Rourke has pressed the Department of Education and Kildare County Council to provide suitable sites for permanent accommodation for schools in Celbridge. Earlier this year, he received a commitment that permanent accommodation would be provided for Celbridge Community Secondary School. James Lawless – New Train Timetable

A new timetable on the Kildare line will come into use from September 10th. However, it has been confirmed that a new timetable with additional services via the Phoenix Park tunnel to Grand Canal Dock in the mornings and, crucially, in the evenings is incoming.

A new timetable is being rolled out from September 10th. You can see the changes by going onto the website and future dating your search. Frank O’Rourke – No dieticians currently on North Kildare Disability Team

Frank O’Rourke TD says new information he has obtained from the HSE demonstrates the need for additional resources for the North Kildare Network Disability Team.

He made the comments after receiving confirmation that there currently is no dietician on the disability team.

Deputy O’Rourke said, “Dieticians play an important role on disability team’s right across the country. They ensure that children with disabilities receive the support they need and have a balanced diet. For example, children with autism often have significant nutritional issues as they are unable to eat certain foods. Dieticians work with children with autism to ensure they receive the nutrition they need from alternative sources of food. Coleman delighted with new bollards outside Scoil Na Mainistreach

Cllr Michael Coleman has said he is “delighted” to see safety bollards installed this week outside Scoil na Mainistreach. This is a project that Cllr Coleman and Deputy O’Rourke have worked to deliver on after the issue of safety was raised with them by concerned parents.

“Deputy O’Rourke and I are committed to ensuring school safety is of paramount importance in the community and the installation of these bollards is another positive step forward.”, said Cllr Coleman.

“Other successful school safety projects that we have delivered include signage and flashing lights being placed adjacent to Scoil Mochua and rebuilding an accessible footpath outside Primrose Hill National School. Thanks to the parents and schools for continuing to bring school safety issues to our attention and to our KCC local area engineer and his team for their continued support in keeping our schools safe”

Orbital Route Bus Service to start on Monday – O’Rourke

Frank O’Rourke TD has said that the new Orbital Route bus service which he has campaigned for,from Naas to Blanchardstown via  will commence next Monday. 

“The preferred bidder for the Orbital Route from Naas to Blanchardstown, Route 139, has been decided and will come into effect on Monday 12th next. It will service Naas to Blanchardstown via Clane, Rathcoffey, Maynooth and Leixlip.”

“It is going to service Blanchardstown IT and Naas Hospital, with nine services each way, seven days a week, with first departures at 07.15 and last departures at 22.35 and will be run for the NTA (National Transport Authority) by JJ Kavanagh & Sons.” Continue reading “Orbital Route Bus Service to start on Monday – O’Rourke”
