LARKIN OPPOSES ROUTE 2 NAAS RELIEF ROAD PROPOSAL

Naas Area Election Candidate Brian Larkin along with fellow candidates, Cllr Carmel Kelly and Terry Dignan have stated their opposition to the proposed “Route 2” Inner Relief Road in the town.

Brian said “While knocking on doors with my canvass team and following receipt of many indepth e-mails from residents, it has become apparent that the proposed Naas inner relief road is an issue of major concern. I am proud to say I will be showing my support to any and all opposing this plan.”

“Naas like many kildare towns has experienced a rapid expansion in population with which current policy and plans have not kept pace. This plan was originally drawn up in an era when naas was a much smaller town, now when KCC finally have gotten around to implementing this plan. We now need a fresh new approach to solve the traffic congestion problem in Naas.”

LAWLESS JOINS NAAS STUDENTS ON CLIMATE PROTEST

James Lawless TD joined some of the students protesting for Climate Action on the streets of Naas today

James commented, “Their generation gets that change is needed and urgently. At Dail level I have supported and spoken on bills to divest fossil fuel investments, to ban new fossil fuel explorations, to reduce waste, to ban single use plastics and many more. With the world heating more in the last 150 years than the previous 5,000 the time for action is now.”

KILDARE NORTH FIANNA FAIL PICK CANDIDATES FOR LOCAL ELECTIONS

Fianna Fáil Deputy Leader Dara Calleary chaired several selection conventions yesterday at the Westgrove Hotel in Clane. Seven candidates in total were selected to contest the local elections next May.

Cllr Naoise O’Cearuil and Cllr Paul Ward were returned unopposed for the Maynooth Electoral area.

Cllr Daragh Fitzpatrick and newcomer Daniel Ronan Keenan were returned for the Clane Electoral area.

Cllr Michael Coleman was returned opposed for the Celbridge Electoral area.

Cllr Carmel Kelly and Brian Larkin were returned for the Naas Electoral area.

James Lawless TD gives oration at the Noel Lemass Commemoration

It was an honour to deliver the ortation at this years Capt. Noel Lemass commemoration in Glenncullen, Co. Wicklow. I spoke about Captain Noel Lemass and the service the Lemass family gave to Ireland. Reflected on the history of the party and how it had always evolved to meet changing circumstances and must continue to do so.

From electoral lows in 1927 and 2011 to the highs of 1932, 1959, and subsequent years in Government the party has continually renewed to lead Ireland. I also detailed what the future holds for Fianna Fáil in a modern Ireland as the party and the country adapt and grow with societal changes today.

Cllr Naoise O’Cearuil makes announcement on Patricks Day Parade

Cllr Naoise O’Cearuil has announced that due to the disruption caused by the adverse weather, the Maynooth St Patrick’s Day Parade are still taking applications.

Naoise said, “I’m entering the final hurdle in organising this year’s parade. This is my fourth year organising it and it continues to be a challenge I enjoy.”

“Due to the weather over the past week, we are accepting late applications. Please spread the word and ensure that we have another great year at our largest annual community event.”

“If anybody is aware of anybody that would be available as stewards on the day, please PM me. We really need as many bodies as possible.”
