LAWLESS WELCOMES SHORT HOP EXTENSION

James Lawless TD is pleased to confirm that Sallins, Naas and Kilcock train stations will be moved into the ‘short hop zone’ and fares will be reduced by up to 50% following a series of meetings I held with the National Transport Authority (NTA) on the matter

James said, “After a prolonged engagement with the NTA, including meetings in Leinster House, and sustained lobbying with both them and Irish Rail, on the disparity of train fares for commuters in Kilcock, Naas, and Sallins they now have revised the zoning model and are making significant changes for the betterment of commuters in these areas.” Continue reading “LAWLESS WELCOMES SHORT HOP EXTENSION”

O’ROURKE WELCOMES NEW KILCOCK BUS SERVICE

Frank O’Rourke TD has welcomed the new 115 Bus service for Kilcock commuters

‘Following representations that I made over the last couple of months to Bus Eireann to improve the bus service for Kilcock commuters, I was delighted that Bus Eireann put a new evening service on Route 115 in place, departing Dublin at 5.10pm. This commenced on Monday 19th of September.’

‘Each day this week, 35 to 40 commuters are using the new 5.10pm service from Dublin to Kilcock. This is a very positive response to the new service and it shows that once we develop a public transport service that is regular and reliable, more and more people will use public transport,’ Continue reading “O’ROURKE WELCOMES NEW KILCOCK BUS SERVICE”

O’ROURKE CLAIMS KILCOCK RAIL FARE STRUCTURE IS UNFAIR

Frank O’Rourke TD has raised the unfair fee structure that exists for Kilcock Irish Rail users with the NTA and Irish Rail

Frank commented, ‘Following a meeting last Thursday with Kilcock residents, I have raised the issue again of the unfair fee structure that Kilcock rail commuters experience when compared to other users along the Maynooth line.’

‘Kilcock has become a commuter town and many Kilcock residents are working in Dublin. I believe that Kilcock should be included in Irish Rail’s short hop zone which attracts lower rail fares. In my view there is no sound basis for continuing to have Kilcock linked to the intercity network with its higher fare structure, and excluding it from the short hop zone (SHZ).’ Continue reading “O’ROURKE CLAIMS KILCOCK RAIL FARE STRUCTURE IS UNFAIR”
