O’ROURKE PRESSES FOR HAZELHATCH FLOOD RELIEF FUNDS

Frank O’Rourke TD has again pressed for funding to be provided for Flood Relief measures at Hazelhatch in Celbridge

“I met with the Minister responsible for the Office of Public Works, Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran, this week, to press for funding to be provided for Flood alleviation measures at Hazelhatch.”

“The Hazelhatch area is home to the GAA, Tennis Club and many residential estates and will be a home for new schools. I secured funding for interim flood alleviation measures in 2014 which proved successful. O’ROURKE SECURES COMMITMENT ON HAZELHATCH FLOOD ALLEVIATION

Frank O’Rourke TD has received a commitment from the Minister for OPW, Mr. Sean Canney TD that together with Kildare County Council, plans will be prepared to design and implement flood alleviation works on the Hazelhatch Road in Celbridge

‘Flooding along the Hazelhatch Road has had a serious effect on the community in that part of Celbridge. O’ROURKE WELCOMES PROGRESS ON HAZELHATCH FLOOD ALLEVIATION

Kildare County Council and the Office of Public Works (OPW) are currently in talks in relation to flooding alleviation schemes for the Hazelhatch road in Celbridge

Frank commented, ‘I have contacted the OPW and met with Kildare County Council senior manager and Director of Services Joe Boland on a numerous occasions in recent months in an effort to have the issue of flooding up at Hazlehatch resolved.’

‘This is a significant issue for this area given that planning permission has been refused for the construction of a new school on the Hazelhatch road because of the risk of flooding.
