O’ROURKE DEMANDS PROGRESS ON CLANE RING ROAD

Frank O’Rourke TD has increased pressure on the Department of Housing together with Kildare County Council to provide funding for the 400m Clane Ring Road linking Capdoo with the Kilcock Road, as progress is made on the Maynooth and Naas Ring Roads

I met with Kildare County Council and officials with the Department of Housing last year and I repeatedly highlighted the requirement for the provision of ring roads in Maynooth, Clane and Naas. O’ROURKE PRESSES FOR MAYNOOTH RING ROAD

Frank O’Rourke TD has raised the requirement for a Maynooth Ring Road at a meeting with Kildare County Council and officials from the Department of Housing Planning Community and Local Government in recent days

“The traffic trying to negotiate travelling through the town of Maynooth is reaching standstill points at many times during the day. The traffic challenge is being raised with me by local businesses and by residents in Maynooth on a constant basis and at my weekly clinics.”

“I am in Maynooth Town Centre at least 5 or 6 times each week and I see the problem first hand. We are seeing residential units being developed on the Old Dublin Road, the Straffan Road and the Dunboyne Road.
