O’ROURKE SEEKS ORBITAL BUS ROUTE FOR NORTH-EAST KILDARE

Frank O’Rourke TD has again called on the National Transport Authority (NTA) to approve an orbital route from Maynooth to Tallaght via Celbridge, Rathcoole and City West.

“I know from my clinics that there is a growing demand for a service linking Maynooth and Celbridge to City West and Tallaght, Many commuters need this connection for work, Education, hospital visits, and connections to other public transport services and for recreational purposes.”

O’ROURKE SLAMS CHILDREN’S HEALTHCARE WAITING LIST

Frank O’Rourke TD has said it is unacceptable that 3,664 children and adolescents are waiting for primary care services in Kildare and West Wicklow

He was commenting as information compiled by Fianna Fáil paints a shocking picture of 90,000 children waiting for primary care treatments across the country. New information from the HSE also shows that 117,000 children across the country are waiting for hospital treatment.

Deputy O’Rourke said the Occupational Therapy list for Kildare – West Wicklow was particularly bad with 917 children waiting, including 614 who have been waiting for more than one year for an assessment.

He said, “The primary care lists which we have refer to vital treatment which greatly aides a child’s growth and development. That there are 3,664 children waiting for psychology, audiology, ophthalmology, dietetics, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and physiotherapy, is simply unacceptable.”

O’ROURKE URGES GOVERNMENT KEEP FOCUS ON REDUCING INSURANCE COST

Frank O’Rourke TD has again called on the Government to focus on reducing the cost of insurance and implement the recommendations of the Cost of Insurance Working Group

Frank commented, “Rising costs of insurance for businesses leads to rising costs for everyone as these costs are invariable transferred to the consumer which increases the costs of living.”

O’ROURKE WELCOMES CELBRIDGE AIRHOPPER SERVICE

Frank O’Rourke TD has welcomed the news that plans are well advanced for an Airport Hopper service for Celbridge to commence at the end of April 2020.

“This is further good news for the people of Celbridge. Since getting elected, I have made representations and had meetings with the Management to have an Airport Hopper Service for Celbridge. O’ROURKE PUSHES FOR OPENING OF CELBRIDGE DENTAL CLINIC

Frank O’Rourke TD spoke in the Dáil this week on the timeline for the opening of the Dental Clinic at the refurbished Health Centre in Celbridge.

Frank said, “The Dental Clinic was promised 12 months ago, and in reply to a sequence of PQs I raised with the Minister for Health, we are now being told it is to be pushed out for another 4 years. This is entirely unacceptable, especially as the closest alternative service is almost 30km away in Naas. I have called on the Minister to meet with me,important issue, and in the interim, to offer a viable solution which will provide access for families, to a dental service.”
