O’ROURKE WELCOMES CELBRIDGE AIRHOPPER SERVICE

Frank O’Rourke TD has welcomed the news that plans are well advanced for an Airport Hopper service for Celbridge to commence at the end of April 2020.

“This is further good news for the people of Celbridge. Since getting elected, I have made representations and had meetings with the Management to have an Airport Hopper Service for Celbridge. The Airport Hopper is an hourly direct airport shuttle service from Dublin Airport that is in service for Maynooth and Leixlip areas.”

“I have now been informed that following preliminary studies, Airport Hopper Services will make a proposal to the National Transport Authority (NTA) to have this Airport connection service made available for Celbridge. The proposal is to have this approved in early 2020 and April is the target month. Celbridge has poor connectivity to Dublin Airport. This is long overdue and I have raised the matter with the Airport Hopper team and the NTA in the past. I want to thank the Airport Hopper team for the positive engagement.”

“We must continue to make progress on providing better public transport for North Kildare. We cannot expect people to use or rely on public transport unless it is a regular and reliable service.” Concluded Deputy O’Rourke.
